Now or Never for Yarraville's First Community Garden!‏

The Good Seeds have almost secured a portion of the Sinking Village site for a community garden - help us get it over the line
Maribyrnong City Council has given us a small window of opportunity to put our views forward on a community garden at the Sinking Village site (High St Yarraville opposite Coles).
We are writing to you because you've met us at a food swap, at one of our stalls or workshops or responded to our survey.
To The Good Seeds community gardens are so much more than rectangular, individual plots. Community gardens are about creating spaces to:
  • grow and share produce
  • educate
  • share food
  • share skills and
  • socialise with likeminded people
Let Maribyrnong City Council know that Yarraville's first community garden needs to reflect the passion and vibrancy of the inner west.

Have a look at the two concepts the Council have proposed for the Sinking Village site. How do you think these concepts compare with the design we've come up with?
The Good Seeds proposed use of the Sinking Village. The public open space could incorporate many of the ideas in both concept A & B
·         The Good Seeds concept design - a reflection of the vibrant community in the Inner West. Please Note: this is a concept design only and elements such as a wind break are currently being incorporated.

All feedback needs to be forwarded to Council by the 22nd of June 2012.
A big green thumbs up in advance for filling out the survey and posting it to Council as it isn't digitised on the website. Council is also welcoming feed back via their email.

Here's to getting our hands dirty,
The Good Seeds

Sinking Village Concept Plans

Hi everyone, here is the webpage to submit feedback on the Sinking Village Concept Plans.

Please submit all comments regarding the plans by Friday 22nd June.

Please note: in Concept A the community garden is an indicative layout only and The Good Seeds would like to present a concept design for the space to Council based on good garden design principles and effective use of space.

Please bear in mind that we would like the community garden to be open to the public and for any local residents to apply for an individual plot based on a set of guidelines. We would also like it to be a safe space for children and families to hang out.
